Subud in Action
As the experience of the latihan guides us in our daily life, many Subud people find the direction of their life changes or becomes more focused over time, as they feel moved to develop their own unique talents, both established and newly discovered ones. Some people are drawn to humanitarian work and others to entrepreneurial ventures, cultural pursuits or the field of health and wellbeing.
As a result, Subud people have formed the following associations:
The first social and humanitarian projects were initiated in the early 1960s, which led to the formation of the charitable arm of Subud, Susila Dharma, in 1969. Today Susila Dharma (Britain) actively supports projects nationally and internationally in areas of education, health, sustainability and the environment.
The Subud International Cultural Association (SICA) is the umbrella organisation for networking and promoting cultural activities in the field of visual or performing arts.
The Subud International Health Association (SIHA) was established to provide a platform that encourages the attainment of human health and self-reliance, by creating opportunities for health professionals, from all disciplines, to communicate and share their diverse experience.
